The world’s most chilled-out toddler laughed and waved to firefighters as they tried to rescue him from inside a locked car.
Fourteen-month old Brandon Green seemed to be enjoying his time inside the car, as he held onto the steering wheel and laughed at his rescuers from the driving seat.
His mum, Kirsty Green, called rescue crews from Cornwall’s Bude Community Fire Station a ‘credit to the community’ after they broke the window and rescued her little boy.
Kirsty was out shopping with her son on Friday and had just finished putting her shopping into the boot when little Brandon somehow managed to trap himself inside. But rather than throw a tantrum, Brandon took the whole thing in his stride.
Kirsty said: “He’d been in the little child seat of the shopping trolley but it didn’t have any straps, so he kept trying to stand up while I was shopping.
“I decided to put him in the back of the car while I was unloading the shopping so he didn’t keep trying to stand up in the trolley.” She then accidentally put her keys in the boot, which became locked after Brandon pushed down the central locks inside the car.
She added: “I was a bit panicky at first, wondering how I was going to get him out, but luckily a few other shoppers quickly came to help me out, and one lady working in Lidl phoned 101.
“It wasn’t a particularly hot or sunny day so once I knew the rescue crews were on the way I knew he’d be fine.”
The crew rocked up and began using tools to try and break into the car, however, when Brandon picked up a 2p coin and put it in his mouth, the team decided to smash the rear driver’s-side window, in case the little fella choked.
Kirsty heaped praise on the rescue team, saying: “They were amazing, and I think just as much as they were keeping Brandon entertained, he was equally making them laugh.”
Brandon was released from the car and passed to his mum; he had suffered no injuries and seemed to enjoy the whole thing, to be honest.
